Underoath ist eine Screamo/Metalcore-Band aus Tampa, Florida (USA).
Nach der Gründung 1998 von Sänger Dallas Taylor veröffentlichte die Band 1999 ihr erstes Album Acts Of Depression. Die damalige Besetzung bestand aus Gitarrist Tim McTague, Schlagzeuger Aaron Gillespie und Keyboarder Christopher Dudley. Ursprünglich spielte die Band Death Metal. Im Laufe der Zeit machte sie mehrere Besetzungs- und Stilwechsel durch und veröffentlichte mit They're Only Chasing Safety ein Album, das auch starke Emo- bzw. Screamo-Einflüsse besitzt.
